Closing of Judicial Symposium on Intellectual Property/Tokyo 2018

The two-day program of Judicial Symposium on Intellectual Property/Tokyo 2018 was concluded on November 1st, 2018.
The IP High Court took charge of the program for the first day, which was comprised of mock trials conducted by judges and attorneys from Japan, Germany, France, U.K. and U.S. on the theme of patent validity issues in patent infringement litigation, followed by a panel discussion based on the results of the mock trials. The first day program attracted over 500 participants and was successfully completed.
The program of the second day, which was comprised of speeches and panel discussions on the latest situation of the respective trial procedures in Japan, U.S. and Europe organized by the Japan Patent Office also attracted a large number of participants. The number of participants totaled around 900 in two days.
