Visit by Trainees of “Japan-Mexico Knowledge Co-Creation Program for the Strategic Global Partnership-Intellectual Property Rights[Short term]”

On November 21, 2016, a total of 5 trainees of“the Japan-Mexico Knowledge Co-Creation Program for the Strategic Global Partnership-Intellectual Property Rights[Short term]” hosted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency, Kansai International Center visited the IP High Court.
 
They received from Chief Judge Ryuichi Shitara an explanation on the outline of the IP High Court. They subsequently toured the courtrooms and received from Judge Motoyuki Nakashima explanations on the details of exclusive jurisdiction of IP litigations, the judicial research officials system and technical advisors system, the outline of an explanatory session, the relationship between the infringement lawsuit and the suits against appeal/trial decisions made by the JPO, and other matters. They exchanged opinions with Judge Nakashima on the actual situation in Japan and Mexico.
