Visit by International Students under the WCO Scholarship Program

On May 20, 2019, 19 international students under the WCO (World Customs Organization) Scholarship Program, who are customs officials from various countries around the world, visited the IP High Court.
After touring the courtrooms, the students received explanations from Presiding Judge Toshihiko Tsuruoka and Judge Masaru Yamakado with regard to a wide range of topics including the outline of the IP High Court, the proceedings of IP-related litigation, active use of expert knowledge, average time intervals from commencement to disposition, and information dissemination via the court's website. The students then actively participated in a question and answer session. The students also received explanations from a judicial research official about the roles of judicial research officials in IP-related litigation.
